CENTRAL CITY You probably won't hear "Don't touch" or "Wipe your feet" too often at Camp Oasis south of Lincoln.
At least that's the way Ron Lockard envisions it. He sees kids spending a morning freely exploring the camp's 40 acres and two ponds.
"And if they come back muddy at lunch," he said, "we'll just hose them off."
Lockard and his wife, Tracey, made a $1 million grant last month to Timberlake Ranch Camps of rural Central City to help it start up Camp Oasis as a site for day camps and weekend retreats for disadvantaged southeast Nebraska children.
Both Lockard and Timberlake Administrator Greg Rhoades said the camp's birth was the ideal convergence of two like-minded visions.
