SATELLITE BEACH - During the summer children's camp at her Art 'n Soul Studio, Karen McDonald often caught the gleam in parents' eyes.

"So many parents who brought their kids to art camp were so excited by the projects their kids did," McDonald said.

McDonald wanted parents to enjoy the same liberating fun, so she decided to become a "camp art counselor," launching an adult art camp at her Satellite Beach studio/gallery.

The camp allows the grownups to get in touch with their inner wild artist.

"I decided to offer the adults the opportunity of playing with clay, splattering paint and designing mosaics to create their own artistic masterpieces," she said.

McDonald opened her studio last year with the idea of being a place where anyone who had an interest in art, regardless of experience, would feel comfortable.
