The Louisiana Lions Crippled Children's Camp, located north of Leesville, celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at their facility with an open house.

The camp, founded in 1957, is built on 170 acres of land. It holds seven camp sessions each summer, each one week long, from June to August, for children with disabilities from across Louisiana. The campers are grouped in sessions, according to their disability and attend free of charge.

The seven camp sessions, with 65-70 children each week, include; respiratory, diabetic, mental and physical disabilities.
