summer 06? Can't Post

Hi
I'm a 19 year old student from Toronto Ontario. The past two summers I have spent my time working at a residential YMCA camp in Ontario. I have also 'graduated' from two Y summer leadership programs. For the summer summer of 2006 however I am looking to work at a new camp, try something new!! I'm looking for a somewhat high paying position (though difficult to find, I know!) I'm looking to make 2200+ as a counsellor or unit head etc...

I know it may cause a problem that I'm from Canada...

Let me know! And keep in touch

Thanks for any help!

How is comming from Canada a problem? Im a counsellor at a camp ip north and I live in Toronto, Ontario aswell. I think an average salary is around $2,000 for someone who is 19.

Re: [KampCounsellor] summer 06? [In reply to] Can't Post

I was thinking more along the lines of getting a visa or something to be able to work in the states. It could get dfficult and I'm wondering if it might be more work than its worth! Also I'm wondering if I would get paid in Canadian $ or American because if I was paid in American due to exchange rates the money would translate to more in Canada, which would be great!!

Take care

Hanna

Yes American camps pay in US dollars, but there pay is lower and after the exchange rates its pretty much the same pay as we get in Canada. However if you want to work at an American camp for the expirience, go ahead. But remeber you pay the cost for your plane ticket there and back, and most camps make you pay for your work visa and passport. If its only money you are interested in - dont get a job at a camp. Im not saying that you will make no money at camp. In fact you save yourself allot of money not being in Toronto going out every night. Anyways, if you want to chat some more send me and email - and I will chat some more when I get back from the weekend.
