Water Planet Adventures offers one of the most unique summer camp experiences available in the world. From aboard out 45 foot catamarans we journey up and down the coast of Belize in search of adventure and exploration along the second largest barrier reef in the world. Our program features all levels of scuba instruction and certification from beginner through the professional level of Divemaster. Students will also learn all aspects of sailing including helmsmanship, navigation, line handling, sail trimming, and small boat operation and safety. We emphasize individual responsibility, leadership and teamwork skills. Students also have the option of participating in additional programs taught onboard by staff members holding university degrees or training in each respective field. We offer formal curricula in marine biology focusing on coral reef ecology, rainforest ecosystems, and Mayan and central American anthropology. Students may also opt to attend first aid and cpr first responder classes leading to EFR certification good fo two years. All voyages also include numerous field trips to cultural highlights of Belize. We employ professional local guides certified through the Belize Ministry of Tourism who, along with our staff, provide a safe and educational experience to sites visited. Field trips may include restored Mayan cities, small boat excursions upriver into the rainforests, the Belize National Zoo, and river tubing adventures through cave systems containing Mayan artifacts and ceremonial sites.
