Tamwood Camps – London Ontario - Huron University

Tamwood International Camps has been operating summer camps in Canada since 1992.

AGES: 7-12 and 13-17

ENGLISH CAMP

The Tamwood summer camp in London is for international and French Canadian campers who want to learn to speak, read, write and understand English better. Campers are assigned to English classes (with maximum of 15 students per class) according to their English level. Campers take 15 hours per week of English lessons taught by qualified and experience teachers.

An important feature of all of Tamwood's camps is the international mix of its campers. Drawing campers from Europe, Asia, Mexico, USA, Canada and South America, Tamwood provides campers with an opportunity to learn about foreign people and cultures and to meet and make friends with young people from around the world.

LONDON, ONTARIO

Located just 1 hour and 40 minutes from Toronto, and less than 1 hour from two of the Great Lakes, London is one of Canada's oldest and most beautiful cities. London is home to 400,000 residents, making it big enough to offer many attractions, yet small enough to be safe, friendly and easy to get around in.

CAMP ACTIVITIES

Campers enjoy a busy program that combines English lessons with a wide variety of land and water sports, adventure and cultural activities and sightseeing excursions. In certain weeks, teenage campers (ages 13-17) can choose to specialize in one instructional sports activity and take small group lessons in that activity 4 days of the week. Instructional activity options include: Tennis, Golf and Horse Riding. Professional coaches at top training facilities in London give these specialized sports clinics.

Campers take part in many off campus trips including full day excursions to places such as Toronto and Niagara Falls and half day trips to attractions in and around London including amusement parks, the beaches of the great lakes, museums….

FACILITIES

Huron University College is the University of Western Ontario’s founding college and is one of Canada’s most prestigious and established universities. The staff working at Tamwood Summer Camps programs have all been carefully selected for their enthusiasm, skills, experience and maturity.
