Brownie Boater
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Shadow Lake holds many exciting secrets that can be discovered while paddling on the lake. Girls will learn basic canoeing techniques, forward and backward strokes and work with their friends to travel the lake waters. Here’s your chance to unravel the mysterious legends of Shadow Lake while working towards your Brownie Boater Card.

Firelight & Fairytales
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
If you like eating s’mores, singing songs, playing games, swimming, cooking outside, hiking and listening to fairytales – then Camp Arnold is the place for you! Other activities can include fishing, making arts and crafts, canoeing, shooting archery and working towards one or more Brownie Girl Scout Try-Its. Come enjoy meeting new friends, playing outside and watching the campfire on the last night!

Teddy Bears Picnic
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Stuff your own teddy bear, then join Hipper and friends for a picnic on Shadow Lake! Hike the trails to Thumper's Pond, take a canoe out for a paddle, or enjoy music and dancing with your new furry friend. Top off the week with other activities like swimming, archery, and campfires!

Want to be a Princess?
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Let the dazzle begin! Feel like a princess as you dress up in your favorite costume - or choose one of our sparkling outfits! Have fun with new hair styles, tea parties, fashion parades and dancing. You’ll also be able to choose from a variety of other Camp Arnold activities. Even royalty needs to take a break for swimming, crafts, or archery!

A Star is Born
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Like to entertain all of your friends? Let your star shine bright when you take part in skits, songs and other stage productions in this fun-filled session! Experiment with stage make-up and show off your new skills during the camp talent show. Offstage, enjoy a variety of camp activities like arts and crafts, swimming, hiking, archery or canoeing.

Little Mermaid
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
This session is for girls who love to splish ‘n’ splash while swimming, canoeing and playing water games. When you’re not in the water, enjoy all of the other fun-filled activities Camp Agnes Arnold has to offer, like campfires, arts and crafts, songs, and games.

Sherwood Forest
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Come enjoy the forest at Camp Agnes Arnold! Try out some archery, hike some of the many trails through the woods, and round out the week with a little music and dance. Of course, when you're not re-enacting life in Sherwood Forest, you can cool off with a dip in the pool, work on arts and crafts, or enjoy s’mores around the campfire!

Weird Science
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Do you like measuring, mixing, pouring, and creating ooey, gooey fun? Brownie scientists will create their own inventions such as silly putty, slime, bubbling solutions and foamy fun! When you're not making new discoveries, enjoy traditional camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts or visiting Thumper's Pond to learn about the Magic Elf.

Bug Hunt
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Take a really close look at some of the critters that live at camp as you work towards the Watching Wildlife Try-It! Are the bugs at night different than the bugs in the day? How do earthworms move? How do ants take care of their families? How do bees talk? Discover the answers to these and many other questions at Camp Arnold! But the fun continues even after camp is over - take home a reusable habitat and your own larvae or caterpillars! Witness the magic of biology as they grow into beautiful ladybugs or butterflies a few weeks later. Set them free into your backyard, where they will contribute to the living ecosystem. When you’re not busy enjoying the wonders of nature, enjoy other activities such as crafts, songs and games, swimming, and s’mores!

Bakin’ Brownies

Mix it, pour it, bake it, love it! A tasty session for campers to make some favorite outdoor cooking treats. Campers will learn to cook their own meals, mix tasty camp snacks and enjoy yummy desserts! Swimming, crafts and other fun activities round out the week for our little chefs.

Splish Splash
Brownies; Ages 6 - 8
Cool off this summer with a watery wonderland! Enjoy aqua-aerobics, water volleyball, swimming, water slides, and more! When you dry off, enjoy arts and crafts, archery, hikes, campfires, and more. Girls will work towards the Water Everywhere Try-It.

Bull’s-eye!
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Spend the week at the archery range working with instructors to perfect your stance, your aim, and your shooting! Of course, when you're not at the range you can cool off with a dip in the pool, work on arts and crafts, or enjoy a hike in the woods! Top off the week with an archery tournament ... Robin Hood, eat your heart out! (Campers will earn the Council Bull’s-eye Patch and the Junior Olympic Archers Certificate.)

Creature Camp
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Work on your Wildlife Badge while exploring the flora and fauna of Camp Agnes Arnold. Hike through the woods or sit quietly at the Tanglewood observation deck in search of deer and other animals. Go underwater with your snorkel and mask and explore the cooler life of Shadow Lake. Participate in other camp activities and finish your week with a special “creature feature” presentation.

Curtain Call
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Do you like to dress up, act and be the star of center stage? The Agnes Arnold theatrical production needs you! Construct sets and prepare costumes, rehearse roles and apply stage make-up. Offstage, enjoy activities such as swimming, hiking, or arts and crafts. Places everybody … action! (Girls will work towards the Theater Badge.)

Harriet Potter
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Try your own kitchen chemistry, potions and magic this week! Mix your ingredients, wave your magic wand and explore the world of science and magic. Top off the week with a game of Quidditch - Camp Arnold style! Campers will work on the Making it Matter Badge and choose other activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery and arts and crafts to round out the week.

Junior Paddler
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Practice the basic skills of flat water canoeing while completing the Small Craft Badge. Once you've mastered the small canoes, add a little face paint and try out your skills by maneuvering the 30 foot war canoes! Girls will earn the Paddler Card, complete an Introduction to Paddling Course, and select other fun camp activities such as arts and crafts or hiking to complete their week.

Pioneer Days
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Step back in time and experience life as one of the first settlers. Learn how to make candles, design a quilt block, card and spin wool, dye fabric, care for a horse, and create your own toys. Our pioneers will be busy this week, but they'll still find time for outdoor cooking and a dip in the pool.

Cheer and Dance
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
This is a fun, creative session for would-be cheerleaders. Work with instructors to choose music and create your own dance routines, then perfect your skills during the week in preparation for the end of camp talent show. Hike, Bike & Canoe
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
There’s no better way to see Camp Agnes Arnold! Grab a helmet and take a ride around the Magic Elf Trails. Learn about bike maintenance and safety rules and join the bicycle rodeo at the end of the week. When you’re not biking, paddle a canoe around Shadow Lake then hike some of the many trails that Camp Arnold has to offer. Want more? How about swimming, archery, arts and crafts, or campfires? Expect a super week full of fun and traditional camp activities!

All About Me
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
It’s time to relax and pamper yourself at Camp Agnes Arnold. Learn the basics of massage therapy, make-up application, yoga, relaxation and breathing techniques as you work towards completing the Stress Less Badge. Try some aromatherapy and make candles to take home with you. Other camp activities such as swimming and s’mores are also included thoughout the week.

Stay cool during the hot summer with aqua-aerobics, water volleyball, swimming, snorkeling, water slides, and more! When you dry off, enjoy arts and crafts, archery, hikes, campfires, and more. Girls will work towards the Swimming Badge.

DIY Designs
Juniors; Ages 9 - 11
Want a clever and unique way to update your look? Why not DIY - Do It Yourself? Learn how to customize clothing, accessories, jewelry, and even your room - without breaking your bank! And of course, you still get to join in the other camp activities like swimming, canoeing, hiking, and campfires.

Backpacking
Cadettes; Ages 12 +
(15 day session.) Want to get away from the heat of another hot Texas summer? Then pack your bags and get ready for some awesome hiking and sightseeing in the southern Rocky Mountains. Campers will be trained in outdoor cooking, camping, hiking skills, basic first aid and safety. Trail Rating: Moderate with some moderately difficult trails.
Cost $570
Notes: Girls must be in good physical condition with a sense of adventure. A doctor’s statement will be required for all participants. Girls must attend a pre-event meeting with their parents/guardians at the Houston Girl Scout Center in April. Girls should each bring a comfortable pair of “broken in” hiking boots. Backpacks and tents are supplied.
Owl Prowl
Cadettes; Age 11 +
Are you a night owl? Sleep late every morning, and explore camp during the dark hours while other campers sleep. Enjoy late night swims and hikes, roast s’mores, tell stories around the campfire and visit the lodge for some late night activities. Since you're up anyway, how about a dip in the pool to earn the "secret" Red Cross Polar Bear Patch?

Guardstart
Cadettes; Ages 11 +
Do you dream of being a lifeguard when you're older? American Red Cross GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow is designed to prepare girls to take Lifeguarding certification programs and for future work as lifeguards. When not learning to be a future lifeguard, girls will round out their week with other activities such as crafts or archery. (Please note: This is a lifeguard preparation course. Girls will not complete lifeguard training at this session.)

Notes: To complete this course, girls must be able to swim the front crawl continuously for 25 yards, tread water for 1 minute, submerge and swim underwater a minimum of 10 feet.
Self Defense
Cadettes; Ages 11 +
This is an awesome, full on fitness and self-defense program! Professional instructors teach many techniques by utilizing a variety of martial arts tactics. Practice effective kicking, blocking and striking moves as you increase your personal awareness, reduce your risk and learn avoidance techniques. You'll be amazed how much you can do as your self-confidence soars during this active session of fun and fitness! Round out the week with some other camp activities such as swimming and campfires, and work towards the Your Best Defense Interest Project Award.

Shutterbugs
Cadettes; Ages 11 +
Do you want to be a photographer? Forget digital cameras - discover the art of black and white photography! Learn about composition, film exposure, proper negative handling and developing. A photo exhibit will display your work on Friday for all to see. Bring your own 35mm camera. When you’re not busy with your camera, you will have time for other activities such as swimming, hiking, or arts and crafts.

Survivor
Cadettes; Ages 12 +
(10-day session) Get ready for the ultimate team sport! Work with your team on the ROPES course until you have mastered the art of cooperation, and are ready for any challenge. Test your strength on the 50 foot cargo net, experience the rush of leaping off the pamper pole, and watch your balance as you glide across the cat walk. Then test your mettle in the ultimate challenge - what would you do if you were lost alone, in the woods, with just you and your team mates? Are you a survivor? If so, come join us for the best challenge yet - and work on the High Adventure and Outdoor Survival Interest Project Awards while you're at it! (Of course, you can also ejoy other camp activities like swimming and s’mores, but don’t bother to bring any matches to start the campfire - you won’t ever need them again!)

Wet ‘n’ Wild
Cadettes; Age 11 +
(10 day session) Spend a few days at Camp Arnold brushing up on your skills and earning your Red Cross FOC - Fundamentals of Canoeing, then head out to Lake Buchanan Adventures! Canoe throug incredible 65-foot waterfalls, take a guided boat tour, cool off in the springs of the Colorado River, and go trail hiking to spot some bald eagles. Accomodations will be at a local Girl Scout house. To top off the week, throw in some swimming, campfires, and other activities like archery! If you've explored every inch of Shadow Lake, and are ready for new adventures, then this session is for you!

Extreme Adventure
Cadettes; Age 11 +
(10 day session) For the more adventurous campers - how does hiking, biking, rappelling, rock climbing and caving sound? Head out into the Texas Hill Country and explore Gorman Cave, rappel Enchanted Rock, hike to see bald eagles and cool off in the waterfalls and springs of Colorado Bend. Top off the week with other camp activities at Arnold such as swimming, campfires, or archery!

Voyager
Cadettes; Ages 12 +
(2 week session) You know how to handle a canoe, you've already earned your FOC, and you're ready for more! Let's start with a 5 day trip down the San Marcos River. Earn your Basic River Certification as you enjoy paddling through Class 1 and Class 2 rapids. Just for fun, add in a trip to Schlitterban in New Braunfels and shopping at the San Marcos Outlet Mall. When you return to camp, complete the Program Aide Core Training with the Canoe Aide Specialty, and help teach canoeing to younger girls. Talk about a summer to remember!
