RECRUIT TRAINING (RT)
This three-week adventure is often known as "Boot Camp." Recruit Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Instructor. Cadets will learn military drill and ceremonies and be challenged like never before! Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will earn the title "Naval Cadet," "Marine Cadet" or "Army Cadet," and will have earned the priviledge of wearing the dress uniform at a formal graduation. Newly recruited ACA Naval Cadets, Marine Cadets and Army Cadets participate in Recruit Training during their first summer as a Cadet.
ADVANCED TRAINING (ADT)
Two weeks of advanced military training and experiences. There will be two platoons of ADT Cadets, with Naval Cadets, Marine Cadets and Army Cadets training side-by-side. This training will include a balance of military training and discipline, with a number of high-adventure activities. Naval Cadets, Marine Cadets and Army Cadets of the ADT program will be inspected regularly and be expected to sharpen their leadership and military skills, while setting an example for the Recruits. Advanced Training is reserved for graduates of ACA Recruit Training, E-2 and above.
RECOGNIZED CADET CORPS INDOC COURSE (RCCI)
A one-week version of Recruiting Training for young people who have been a Cadet in a Recognzied Cadet Corps (CAP, NSCC, JROTC and Young Marines) for at lleast two years and have completed a 7-day residential program. This is a USMC-style one-week training program. The training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Instructor. Cadets will refresh their skills in military drill and ceremonies, run the obstacle course, have the opportunity to earn marksmanship awards, certify in self defense, participate in water survival, learn basic land navigation, rappel off a tower and be challenged like never before! Upon completion, you will earn the title "Naval Cadet," "Marine Cadet" or "Army Cadet," in America's oldest nationwide Cadet Corps. Graduates of RCCI can then attend Advanced Training (ADT).
NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS' LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY (NCOLDA)
Are you a leader? This seven-day program, patterned after the USMC's Corporals' Course will help you find out. NCOLDA consists of seven intense days of leadership training, advanced drill and ceremonies, meticulous daily inspections, testing of your courage through the advanced obstacle course and small-arms certification, all culminating with a formal Mess Night. A single platoon of not more than 24 Naval Cadets, Marine Cadets and Army Cadets will train side-by-side, polishing their military bearing and leadership skills. This program is reserved for the most motivated Cadets in the country. NCOLDA Cadets will participate in several inspections, refining their leadership skills and military bearing, preparing them to set a fine example for the Recruits and Advanced Training Cadets they will later lead. NCOLDA is reserved for ACA Cadets E-4 and above (and outstanding E-3s). Outstanding graduates of NCOLDA will be hand-picked as Troop Handlers for the Recruit and Advanced Training programs during the two weeks following NCOLDA. The Troop Handlers fill many of the roles of a Drill Instructor, providing front-line leadership to Recruits and Advanced Cadets, while being carefully monitored by qualified adults. Other graduates will be selected for staff support billets or will attend the Advanced Training (ATD) program where they will normally be Squad Leaders. NCOLDA is only for those Cadets who are hard-chargers, with exceptional military bearing, strong leadership skills, solid physical fitness, unwavering moral courage, and a personal dedication to the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.
OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOL (OCS)
(ADULTS AGE 18 AND OVER ONLY)
This seven-day program, patterned after the National Guard's Officer's Candidate School will consist intense education in leadership, advanced drill and ceremonies, meticulous daily inspections, for new members of the ACA Officer's Corps. This is an adult program, for Officer Candidates and Junior Officers, who are age 18 and over. OBC students will train side-by-side the NCOLDA students.
