Description:

Easter Seals Camp Kysoc is a resident and respite decentralized camping facility that provides children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the outdoors in a safe and fun environment.

Camp Kysoc's fund raising adventure program Alpenglow Adventures is the first Adventure Program in the world that will access, for the very first time - with people who cannot walk:

- The Havasu Canyon, between Havasu and Mooney Falls in Arizona

- The Grand Canyon National Park and to the Phantom Ranch at the bottom

- To the highest Uhuru summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in East Africa

All of America's and the world's hiking trails have been inaccessible to anyone who was wheelchair dependant until now. With the use of the Kili-Kart, and the Trail Rider, we will be able offer teams of volunteers the ability to push and pull people who cannot walk to America's and to the world's greatest and most scenic destination objectives.

As well, all revenue above expenses will go to support the children and adults with physical disabilities who attend Camp Kysoc.

Camp Focus:

Adventure Camps: Assorted Adventures   Adventure Camps: Hiking   Special Needs Camps: Physical Disabilities   Teen Tours and Travel Camps: United States   Winter and Spring Break Programs

Sessions:

We will take 4 people who cannot walk along with 16 volunteers to push and pull the Kili-Kart and the Trail Rider. As well, we will take up to 30 other people who will come along and offer support and encouragement.

Havasu and Grand Canyon National Park Trip: March 16th - March 21st, 2008

Mount Kilimanjaro Ascent and Game Safari: August 1st - August 17th, 2008.

We believe that these trips will be the first in history to descend to these 2 spectacular locations in Arizona who cannot walk, as well as being the first to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro.
