Description:

A magical Vermont summer of circus fun awaits you at Circus Smirkus Camp! Circus Smirkus Camp captures the magic and excitement of circus and combines it with the fun and friendship of camp. Two-day to two-week residential sessions for ages 6 to 18 with beginning to advanced skills.

Big Top 10 Reasons to Run Away to Circus Smirkus Camp:

1. A Tradition of Circus Excellence
Smirkus Camp is run by the same folks behind VermontÕs 20-year-old award-winning international youth circus. The camp was founded in 1990 so that kids of all ages and abilities could experience the dream of running away and joining the circus.

2. Learn the Ropes from the ProÕs
Our experienced, fun-loving directors, coaches and counselors have what it takes to fill your summer with high adventure and low comedy. Our Co-Directors have a combined 29 years at Smirkus Camp. Our team of coaches represent some of the most talented professionals in the industry.

3. Real Skills, Serious Fun
Each camp session is one or two fun-filled weeks of acrobatics, juggling, clowning, trapeze, perch, tightwire, Spanish web, unicycling, stiltwalking and more! No experience necessary, just a sincere desire to learn about circus and have lots of serious fun!

4. Every Kid is a Star
With a 1:3 staff to camper ratio, we are big enough to make the magic and small enough for every kid to steal the show.

5. Success is Guaranteed
Each camper masters new skills and tricks at her/his own level. There is no competition with others in the circus Ð only cooperation and helping hands to do your personal best. Our philosophy: Compete with yourself and cooperate with others.

6. Safety First, Second and ALWAYS
There is one thing we are stone-cold serious about: Safety! In addition to our professional coaches, we employ an experienced rigging leader who performs regular equipment checks to ensure the highest safety levels day after day after day.

7. ItÕs a Circus Camp
Smirkus Camp combines the excitement of circus with the fun and friendship of camp. Most circus camps are day camps, and most residential camps often just include circus arts as part of a large program. Smirkus Camp offers a unique experience, combining world-class circus arts training with professional circus equipment in a residential camp setting.

8. Vermont Makes it Magical
The setting and accommodations create a backdrop for a truly magical experience. Professional circus tents set in the rolling farmlands of Vermont on the campus of Sterling College in scenic Craftsbury Common.

9. EveryoneÕs Welcome in Our Big Top
Our tent is open to a wide range of abilities and we make extra special effort to accommodate special needs, medical conditions and diet accommodations. Everyone takes the stage inside our Big-Top.

10. Kids AND Parents Love it
They say itÕs a dream come true. Kids get to run away to a camp that's a combination of training, discipline and downright fun. Parents watch their kids come home with new skills, new self-confidence and a touch of circus flair.
