The Circle R Ranch Community

Circle R Summer Camps provide an incredible environment full of new and old friends, music, new achievements and many opportunities for personal growth and independence.  The essence of Circle R is the presence of supportive relationships and challenging activities in a physically and emotionally safe environment.  Circle R offers a wide variety of summer programs for children 6 - 16 years old, from day camp to residence camp, and varying in length from five days to one month.  We understand that each camper comes to us with unique needs, interests and at different stages of development.  Each camper will have the opportunity to learn more about the natural world, and to develop respect for themselves and others within the camp community.

Western Pleasure Horseback Riding

Our featured program is western pleasure horseback riding. Both Day and Residence campers ride everyday, and have the opportunity to develop a special bond with their horse. This relationship teaches lessons about responsibility and the important connection that humans have with animals and the natural world. Riding and working with horses inspires a positive and caring attitude, and is an enjoyable activity that provides many opportunities to appreciate and understand these intelligent and sensitive animals.

Horseback riding also promotes good physical health! Developing the skills required to become a better rider involves coordination, balance, and core strength.

Furville Rescued Cat Sanctuary

In addition to interacting with horses, campers will enjoy Furville Rescued Cat Sanctuary. Furville offers campers the opportunity to increase empathy while they assist in taking care of our fortunate felines. Of course, there is plenty of time to play and give affection to our cats and kittens who have been granted a second opportunity at a more comfortable life! In the past two summers, the Furville Adoption Program has helped 19 cats find their 'forever homes!' The success of this program can be attributed in large part to the incredible kindness and compassion demonstrated by Circle R campers. Furville is operated in partnership with Pawsitive People, a registered Canadian charity that specializes in Humane Education and Character Development.

Additional Circle R Ranch Program Activities

Circle R Ranch offers a comprehensive program schedule, including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, tree climbing, arts & crafts, pottery, archery, fishing, environmental programs, mountain biking, overnight camping trips, day trips, bouldering wall, low ropes course, wide games, campfires and singing, variety shows, and special events.  We believe that a well rounded camp program includes four essential elements:  structured group activities, individual choice, group choice and all-camp activities.

Circle R Ranch is a place where animals, nature and people create an exciting and memorable world. Together, we learn, explore and discover in an environment where everyone can feel at home.
