Film Institute at Pali Overnight Adventures!

A summer paradise nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, Pali Overnight adventures offers a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience!

Write, direct and produce your very own film! Take your wildest ideas, turn them into a screenplay, cast the best actor for each role and then shoot, edit and screen your film, sharing your vision and telling your story for others to experience again and again.

Week 1:

For campers looking to have an amazing time while learning the basics of filmmaking, the Film Institute is perfect for you. Learn tips and tricks from industry experts on lighting, sound, camera work, editing technologies and much more. All of the campers in this specialty will work together to create a short movie that will premiere at the Pali Film Festival and receive a DVD copy to bring home and so you can show off your Hollywood magic to family and friends!

Week 2:

Stay two weeks at the Film Institute if you really want to master the intricacies of the filmmaking process while producing a spectacular short feature film. For the more serious filmmaker with dreams of a future in the biz, this program will give you enough time to truly and accurately create your vision. From our Hollywood veterans who know what it takes to succeed in this industry, learn to truly understand every aspect of the filmmaking process. Improve your script-writing techniques through deeper understanding of arc, theme, character, tension and conflict. Develop your ability to create storyboards and plan your shooting schedule. Send location scouts to find the best spots to bring your scenes to life. Learn directing techniques to bring out the best in your actors and cinematographers. Capture the images you need with lighting and camera angles that will engage your viewers. Learn expert editing techniques on top-of-the-line editing systems including Final Cut Pro. Then, on the final day of camp, walk the red carpet to the cheers of adoring fans at the Pali Film Festival attended by all of camp, your parents, as well as actual Hollywood agents looking for new talent. Return home with your DVD to share with family and friends, a Pali film award, or even the possibility of an industry contract!
